Ian Walsh has a nice analysis of John Edwards' latest foreign policy speech here. Edwards isn't saying anything radical, he's just asking us to honor principles that we should be able to agree are essential for any decent nation-state to follow.

I'm more impressed by the way he admits to being wrong on the use-of-force authorization vote. I wish Hillary would just do her mea culpa and get it over with!
I'm impressed with John Edwards, too, on a number of fronts, but primarily because he is willing to give specifics, whether speaking of foreign policy or global warming, social security, or health care. Indeed, he is not only willing to say what needs to be said (and how he'd propose to accomplish it) rather than what people may want to hear, he feels it is a moral imperative to do so. In addition, I want to cast my vote for a candidate who is actually electable rather than polarizing. It is vital that we get this election right, finally. Our entire American heritage is at stake. We truly can't afford otherwise!
