Job 1 for Wisconsin GOP? Disenfranchise the voters

When Democracy is under attack, it needs capable defenders. Sen. Jon Erpenbach of Wisconsin is helping the citizens of his state resist a massive theft of their most fundamental right, the right to vote.

Tell Sen. Erpenbach you appreciate his fight to preserve the right to vote for Wisconsin citizens: Sen.Erpenbach@legis.wisconsin.gov

They don't want people voting in Wisconsin, because they don't want to lose power. The Rethugs are prepared to take these same unconstitutional measures in other states, wherever they feel threatened. U.S. voters should be proactive and put pressure on their state Governors and legislators to promise not to allow any voter suppression. Requiring duly registered voters to provide all sorts of unnecessary, never before needed, identification and documentation is not only wrong, it is unconstitutional. Poll taxes have been found unconstitutional because they discriminate against certain voters. Demanding that some duly registered and eligible voters spend their own time and money to jump through unnecessary hoops is equivalent to a poll tax. Many of us thought they would never come back after passage of Civil Rights. We were wrong, and now it's time to mobilize our fellow citizens in all 50 states to defend their voting rights. Protests against this violation are important, but we must also educate ourselves as to the game being played by the other side, and learn to beat them at it. Let's prove once and for all that the people will be heard!

Ulysses, we will prevail. The future exists only as potentia and right intention will call forth justice and equality. Hard work is, of course, required.

The same thing is happening in Ohio. It's getting ridiculous.
